Event Description

Drawing hundreds of high-caliber musicians from around the world, Winter Jazzfest is a major beacon of the New York jazz scene. With more than a hundred concerts, spread across a dozen live music venues, one of its biggest drawbacks is that there is no way you can see it all. So heads-up: 2016’s not-to-be-missed headliners of Jewish interest include Israeli-born trumpeter and composer Avishai Cohen, “an assertive, accomplished trumpeter with a taste for modernism," (New York Times) and DownBeat Magazine’s critics Poll “Rising Star” three years running; internationally acclaimed Israeli jazz saxophonist, composer and arranger Eli Degibri; Gilad Hekselman, one of NY's most established Jazz guitarists; Shai Maestro’s Trio, lead by Aviahi Cohen’s former pianist, and several more.
