Event Description

In remembrance of Yom Hashoah, JCC Manhattan's film program Cinematters presents two award-winning films, followed by Q&A’s with directors and cast members. In the Academy Award-nominated short documentary film “Joe’s Violin,” a donated violin forges an improbable friendship between 91-year-old Holocaust survivor Joe Feingold and 12-year-old Bronx school girl Brianna Perez. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Joe Feingold (of the film) and director Kahane Cooperman. “Fever at Dawn,” an inspiring story based on a novel of the same name, chronicles the attempts of a Holocaust survivor diagnosed with a terminal lung disease to find love and settle down – even though he has only an estimated six months to live.
